Welcome to Wine Country BC, Season 3!!
It’s been a little while and there are lots of exciting new things happening here this year – some big changes coming, lots of announcements and fun stuff.
This week’s podcast features interviews at the “biggest little winery launch” last August of the Bartier Bros. Winery that took place at Burger 55, which was entirely fitting. Small winery/big taste vs small burger joint/big taste made for a great summer evening. Everyone was in great spirits that night and the staff at Burger 55 were awesome, as always. (They don’t pay me to link up their website, btw. But I sure wouldn’t mind being paid in burgers now and then… just saying…)
If you haven’t heard of Michael Bartier yet, chances are you’ve at least tried some of the wine he’s made. He was at Hawthorne Mountain (now See Ya Later Ranch), then Township 7 (where he put them on the map with their Chardonnay), and then Road 13 until recently taking on head winemaker duties at the Okanagan Crush Pad in Summerland, BC. Along the way, he’s consulting with Painted Rock, Soaring Eagle, and maybe more. Born and raised in the Okanagan, he’s putting his love of the Valley’s attitude out there with his new label, Bartier Bros. in partnership with his brother Don Bartier.
Check out this podcast recorded on location that evening with Don and Michael Bartier at the launch of their new winery.
